A political commentator Pedzisai Ruhanya has said Zanu PF face a stiff challenge after President Robert Mugabe as who so ever will take over will lead a seriously fragmented party.

"Special Congress or no Special Congress, Zanu PF and its members should know that after President Mugabe, no leader will be endorsed without teething contestations that are likely to see its demise," he said.

"Whoever will take over after Mugabe will preside over a tattered political party. There will be vicious authoritarian breakdown. This party is delaying the inevitable and inescapable political reality."

He said President Mugabe has the potential to leave mother earth with his party Zanu PF.

"So goes President Mugabe, so followed the once mighty Zanu PF. The authoritarian center will never hold. It will be dog eat dog," he said.
