Cyber trolls have blasted MDC-T spokesperson, Obert Gutu over his tweet that no one in that opposition party was more popular and saleable other than MDC-T leader, Morgan Tsvangirai.
Gutu wrote on his Twitter handle that, "Fact is there's no one in the MDC who has got the charisma and popular appeal like the one Morgan Tsvangirai has got. Absolutely no one," said Gutu.
Gutu's statement did not go down well with most commentators who opined that he was hero worshipping Tsvangirai and looking down upon other potential officials who might be even better than their current leader.
One cyber troll, Darlington Tshuma, @dartsoe1 commented that, "How can you be sure when none within MDC has been given a chance to demonstrate what they got in the same manner Morgan Tsvangirai has."
Tshuma's sentiments were echoed by Daison Ngirazi, @ngirazid who said they were many people within that opposition party who were capable of taking over from Tsvangirai.
Ngirazi said, "Mukoma respectfully I think this is not a sign of strength, there should be many and they are there if exposed and allowed to come forth."
In his reply to Gutu's tweet, Collin Mangenah questioned Gutu if MDC-T was going to be disbanded in the unfortunate event that Tsvangirai passes away.
"Are you suggesting the MDC-T is dead if Morgan Tsvangirai were to die today? Sad indictment as political organisations should outlive individuals," he tweeted.
Tsvangirai has been battling with cancer of the colon for quite some time and has been receiving treatment in South Africa, a development that has ignited succession battles between his two Vice presidents Khupe and Chamisa, with both aiming to succeed Tsvangirai considering his deteriorating health.
