A man from Bulawayo's Nketa 6 suburb got the shock of his life when his son (31) beat him up for failing to give him food and out of anger spilt the beans that he was not his "real" father.
Stephen Nsingo (58) was left with homework to ascertain his son's claims.
It is reported that Mlungisi Nsingo insulted his father with unprintable words before beating him up for failing to give him food.
The saying that a hungry man is an angry man became true as Mlungisi lost his temper after failing to get food from his father.
He thoroughly beat him up and the father was forced to report the matter to police, leading to his son's arrest.
Mlungisi appeared before magistrate Tancy Dube facing physical abuse charges and he pleaded guilty citing that he was hungry.
He was convicted on his own plea of guilty and sentenced to 30 days imprisonment or $100 fine.
It is reported that on 4 October around 8pm, Mlungisi got home and started demanding food from his father saying he had not eaten anything since morning.
When his father told him there was nothing to eat, he reportedly became angry and shouted at him before pushing him to the ground.
One of the tenants at their home, Hilda Tlou then helped the old man to get up and took him to his bedroom.
The fuming son followed him and thoroughly bashed him with open hands before telling him that it was high time he got to know that he was not his son.
The matter was reported to police, resulting in Mlungisi's arrest.
