A man from Waterford suburb in Bulawayo will forever rue the day he was found donning a soccer jersey given to him by his married lover.

The jersey was a token for apparently quenching his lover's sexual desires but it later sold him out to its original owner, the lover's husband.

Silence Sibanda for sometime suspected his wife Charity Moyo was seeing Andrew Ndlovu.

On 3 October the T-shirt inscribed with his totem and lucky number - "Mdawini 33" - gave him a clue, as it was worn by Ndlovu.

As far as Sibanda was concerned, the t-shirt was stolen on the washing line but the sight of Ndlovu wearing it at Waterford Shopping Centre forced him to act.

In a fit of rage, Sibanda reportedly teamed up with his friend Innocent Dube and assaulted Ndlovu with fists, open hands and booted feet all over the body.

As a result of the assault Ndlovu, who sustained a swollen eye and bruises all over his body, confessed that he got the soccer jersey from Sibanda's wife after a good sex session.

He later went and reported the matter to the police, leading to Sibanda and his friend's arrest.

Ndlovu, however, later withdrew the charges before plea saying he decided to solve the matter out of court after the two had begged for forgiveness.
