I AIN'T a snitch!
A woman caught cheating during an Ordinary Level Science paper three examination has decided to take the fall and not give names.
Sithulisiwe Ngwenya sat for the paper at Sojini Secondary School in Lupane. However, her shortcut to academic success collapsed spectacularly when an invigilator caught her "downloading" answers from her "disc" into the answer script.
Upon investigation it was discovered that her "disc" had specific answers to questions. Thus it raised the possibility of an inside job and a leaked paper.
Appearing before Bulawayo resident magistrate Franklin Mkhawananzi, Ngwenya said she got the paper from a complete stranger she met on the bus.
"I am now the laughing stock in my neighbourhood. It was not my plan to cheat because I am a fully devoted Christian, I put blame on the man I met in the bus who just gave me the answer sheet," she said.
However, her pleas failed to save her as the magistrate did not buy her sob story.
"What you are saying does not make sense to any normal human. You were fully aware that you were committing a crime and you will be treated like any other criminal," said Mkhwananzi.
She was given 210hours of community service or six months in prison.
