Last week we carried a story headlined: Council staffer attempts suicide over certificates where it was mentioned that Miriam Saurombe used fake certificates to secure employment with the local authority.
The article further stated that Saurombe consumed an unknown substance in an attempted suicide as she failed to fathom the humiliation after the alleged fraudulent act was exposed.
However, it has since emerged that Saurombe did not use fake certificates to gain employment with the local authority and that her employer has not informed her of any investigations against her, neither has there been any charge laid against her.
It has also emerged that Saurombe was never treated for taking any substance that we claimed was an attempt to commit suicide. We unconditionally apologise to Saurombe and her family for any embarrassment and inconvenience the story might have caused.
