Tsvangirai's spin doctor attacks 'indisciplined' Eddie Cross

Veteran MDC lawmaker and MDC-T's Policy Coordinator-General, Mr Eddie Cross, will face the music over his utterances on party president Mr Morgan Tsvangirai's health.
Mr Cross, one of Tsvangirai's closest allies, this week said opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai - who is fighting an aggressive form of cancer of the colon - is struggling with excruciating pain.
The MDC leader was last Wednesday airlifted to South Africa, with his spokesperson Luke Tamborinyoka saying that he had gone for a "routine" medical check-up.
Mr Cross once posted on his blog that Mr Tsvangirai was seriously ill and "might not be able to handle the election and subsequently the responsibility of being president of a country".
Tsvangirai's spin doctor yesterday said the MDC-T leader is "winding up his health issues" and out of danger. He indicated that Cross has neither the mandate nor the medical expertise to purport to speak authoritatively and competently about Tsvangirai's health.
"Honourable Eddie Cross has neither the mandate nor the medical expertise to purport to speak authoritatively and competently about President Tsvangirai's health. Those of us who have been in constant interaction with the President are worried stiff about the needless and unnecessary innuendos that are being thrown around concerning his health.
"There is absolutely no reason for anyone, let alone a senior member of the party citing nameless and ill-informed third parties, to trigger a national alarm not based on objective facts. True, like all mortal beings, MT is winding up his health issues and is currently on a short break but he is well out of danger and will be back home soon. I have just spoken to him and he is in fine health. Yes, we are unrepentant democrats; but certainly, indiscipline does not constitute democracy."
