'My wife violent, I don't love her anymore'

A HARARE man says his wife is violent and always threatens to hire thugs to assault him.

Jackson Chinyakare appeared at the Harare Civil Court seeking for a protection order against Linda Mutemarunga.

Chinyakare said:

"Your Worship, I am applying for a protection order against my wife who is not submissive to me to the extent that she assaults me every day.

"I want her to stay away from our matrimonial home since I am the one who owns the house.

"She is violent and should be stopped from beating us because anoda zvemawoko."
Chinyakare added:

"She is my wife and we still married but I want her to vacate my house because I no longer love her.

"She always come to my work place and verbally harasses me in front of my workmates.

"She is a bully Your Worship to the extent that I do not have a say in every decision in my house."

In response, Mutemarunga said:

"I am opposed to the claim, Your Worship.

"He is lying that I assault him every day but I only did it twice. We reside together but I am customarily married to this man."

Mutemarunga added that she has neither been to his workplace nor insulted him in front of the workmates.

Magistrate Sharon Tatenda Chipanga granted the protection order in Chinyakare's favour.
