First lady Grace Mugabe, banking on the power of her husband today instructed all provincial leaders to pass votes of no confidence in the country's Vice President, Khuluma Afrika reported this afternoon.

The provinces were told that they ought to go through and finish the processes by 13:00 this afternoon, which would have sealed Mnangagwa's fate.

A press conference had earlier being scheduled at State House in Harare, where it was expected Mugabe would announce that he was firing his deputy, based on the call from the people.

Four provinces and one key organ have already honoured the call, with Mashonaland East, Bulawayo, Manicaland, Mashonaland Central, and Youth League have already passed the vote of no confidence.

The Women's League, led by Grace Mugabe is expected to follow suit soon. Although Grace Mugabe is said to have wanted them to be the last to do so, so that they give a picture of having bowed down to the people's wishes.

As we reported earlier, Khuluma has been told that Mugabe has been forced to up the assault against his deputy, amid fears that he was going to be voted out at congress.

Unconfirmed reports so far indicate that powerful figures and supporters of Mnangagwa are facing the chop, or have already faced the chop.
