We must not be carried away by Zanu PF fissures - Mwonzora

MDC-T secretary general Douglass Mwonzora has warned supporters and member never to be carried away by Zanu PF fissures.
"We should make sure that we don't get carried away with what is going on in Zanu PF. It can turn out to be a serious diversion. Currently we have to focus on voter registration. The current exercise has been seriously affected by the unreasonable demands for proof of residence by ZEC," he said.
"It has also been dogged with the illegal demands by Zanu PF officials and thugs of people's registration slips. We have also seen the so called aliens being denied the right to register. We have therefore taken Zanu PF, ZEC and the Zimbabwe Council of Chiefs for a stop by their members from recording people's voter registration serial numbers."
He said they have also filed a court application for the so called aliens to be allowed to register to vote using their current IDs as long as they can produce birth certificates which prove that they were born in Zimbabwe.
"The cases will be heard in the High Court this week. It is important that we encourage our people to register to vote. This is the time to unite. Together we will win. Victory is Certain," he said.
