CLERIC Patrick Mugadza, one of President Robert Mugabe's fierce critics, has indicated that he would name his upcoming baby boy after Zimbabwe Defence Forces Commander General Constantino Guveya Dominic Nyikadzino Chiwenga whom he credited for firing the last shot to politically finish off the Zanu-PF leader.

In an audio in our possession, Mugadza said Chiwenga's courage to challenge Mugabe's 37-year rule was a momentous feat befitting a unique honour on the land.

"My wife is very, very pregnant. When the boy comes, I will be naming him after you General Chiwenga," Mugadza said.

Mugadza, who once "prophesied" that Mugabe would die on October 17 this year before he retracted the prophecy as the date drew closer, yesterday hailed Chiwenga for the military intervention.

"May I say to General Chiwenga well done and everyone else who was behind this, thank you so very much. May God bless you and I strongly believe this is the end of the road behind this whole thing," he said.

The cleric also challenged Chiwenga to intervene in other State security departments, particularly police and weed out corrupt elements.

"Let me say about the police, the police are so very corrupt to the extent that this nation will find it difficult to return to normalcy when it comes to issues of bribes. This is my suggestion. It is very possible to just lay them off. By doing that we are taking away the corrupt people."

Mugadza was arrested on numerous occasions after he engaged in solo protests against Mugabe and corrupt public officials. Some of his cases are still pending at the courts.
