A 28-year-old woman allegedly inserted her fingers into her 16-year-old housemaid's private parts after suspecting that she was engaging in sex with her husband.
The court heard that Angela Mbada was testing whether or not the 16-year-old had just slept with her husband. Mbada pleaded not guilty to aggravated indecent assault and assault charges. She appeared before Harare regional magistrate Mr Elijah Makomo, who remanded the matter to tomorrow for judgment.
In her defence, Mbada denied inserting her fingers into the maid's private parts, but only caused her to remove her under-pants to check whether or not she had been intimate with her husband.
"When she removed her panties, I discovered that it was mine and it was wet, suggesting sexual activity," said Mbada.
"I was suspicious after I came home from work and found wet clothes on the floor. "She was acting strangely, prompting me to ask whether or not she had sex with my husband. She is fabricating the allegations to fix me. She stole our neighbour's clothes and they had an altercation in my presence. There was no more trust between us." Prosecuting, Mrs Molyn Mutamangira is alleging that on October 8, this year at around 9pm, Mbada arrived home from work and asked what time her husband had come home.
She allegedly said the house was smelling, but the maid told her that she burnt the chicken. Mbada entered her bedroom and asked why her husband clothes were wet and the maid said she had no idea. It is alleged that Mbada started accusing the maid of having sexual intercourse with her husband.
The court heard that Mbada lit a candle and ordered the maid to lie down and remove her panties. She complied and Mbada allegedly inserted her fingers into the maid's private parts to check whether or not they had sex. Four days later Mbada ordered the maid to leave and she gave her $2. The maid went to Sunningdale 2, where she narrated her ordeal to her uncle. A report was made to the police. She was medically examined
