The Siphesakhe Youth Organisation (SYO) has upped the ante in its fight against the Human Rights abuses committed against the people of Matabeleland by joining hands with the famous Platform One musical band on two crucial projects. The Platform One is widely known and loved in Matabeleland.

"In appreciation of the support we have received from our brothers and sisters in Matabeleland we have decided to give back by establishing a foundation whose offices would be in Bulawayo and Johannesburg" explained Nani Ntengo the lead vocalist of Platform One.

On the 25th November 2017 uLoyiko and Platform One will share a stage at Hillbrow Theatre in what is dubbed Matabeleland Genocide Convention. The Platform One will be singing and performing its much beloved songs and uLoyiko will be performing its play ‘uLoyiko', recently in Capetown the play left people mesmerised yet others crying. The play is now well polished to the highest standard possible.

"We are taking our work against the genocide to another level now, in our forthcoming music album ‘Cries of Matabeleland' we are collaborating with the world renowned group- Platform One" Mr Manala said and continued "we are happy to also announce that on Saturday we will be sharing the stage with them at Hillbrow Theatre"

The issue of Human Rights violations in Matabeleland is taking a new shape and thanks to the hard work of the SYO through its theatre play uLoyiko. In October last month the play was dubbed prophecy theatre by a member of the public who had just been part of the huge number of attendants, the Black Box Theatre was jam packed to the extent that other people were turned back.

"On Saturday we want to do the same, we want to fill the Hillbrow theatre to the bream" Mr Manala said excitedly. With the prominence and acclaim by which the group and play has gain it is highly likely that the Hillbrow theatre will be full to the bream.

The timing of the performances is spot on when the new Zimbabwe president would have just been sworn in. Mr Mnangagwa the incoming president of Zimbabwe is alleged to have played a pivotal role in the Matabeleland genocide which uloyiko play laments. The People of Matabeleland are happy that Mugabe is gone but they are aware that the zanu pf system remains intact and they are not prepared to relax the fight for their rights. Thousands of Mthwakazi people would be demonstrating in Bulawayo and some in Johannesburg on the 25th November against Mnangagwa for his role in the gukurahundi genocide.

When Nani Ntego the lead vocalist of Platform one was asked about the work done by SYO, she said that they supported their work as it helps them to better understand the predicament of the people of Matabeleland. She went on to narrate the aim of their foundation which they are setting up for the people of Matabelelalnd "the aim of the foundation is to empower the youth from Matabeleland particularly the up and coming artsits, we want to create and open opportunities to the arts for them"

The whole of Matabeleland is invited to the joint performances by uLoyiko and Platform One this very Saturday on the 25th November at Hillbrow Theatre.

Dr Cameroon from the United Kingdom will be the main speaker of the day. Dr Cameron has just recently published a research report of the gukurahundi genocide which clearly evidenced the complicit of the West and Britain in particular to the genocide. Now Britain is happy to endorse the presidency of Mnangagwa the man who played a pivotal role in the genocide. When will Britain ever learn?
