The newly sworn president Emmerson Mnangagwa must embrace all tribes and races for his government to be regarded as democratic.

Jephias Chikwanda‎ said his advice to president Mnangagwa was that if he exclude people from democracy on the basis of skin colour, belief it is not democracy but racism or tribalism.

"You are where you are because of the people, nobody should be marginalised by democracy. Let the people of Zimbabwe rule themselves, you are only there as leader not a ruler.

"ZANU PF is nothing as compared to Zimbabwe, please put our country first before ZANU PF. Remember we have opposition parties in the country, give them the room to market their brand," said Chikwabda.

"Giving opposition parties a room, this will us to have competent politicians. Competition is good for the development of the country. If they beat you in election, give them a chance to show what they are capable of.

"Now the only way forward must be the way forward. The world is moving,we need to move with the world."
