27 Nov 2017 at 01:54hrs | Views
Man of the moment and ZIFA President Phillip Chiyangwa (Phidza) has come out in the open to debunk rumors that he was arrested as he was trying to flee the country.
Chiyangwa spoke via a video call coordinated by his friend and fellow businessman Mutumwa Mawere.
Chiyangwa was reported to be among the 'criminals' who were targeted by the military as part of 'Operation Restore Legacy' which saw several high profile names being detained. Chiyangwa called the rumors hogwash, he reiterated that he was safe and sound and was never arrested.
An angry Chiyangwa slammed attention seeking rumor mongers who cook up malicious stories to tarnish his reputation and advised them to get a life and in usual Chiyangwa fashion said 'havana cash' (they are broke).
The ZIFA president denied lending any support to ex first lady Grace Mugabe after being quizzed about chanting a pro-Grace slogan. A visibly riled Chiyangwa seemed to suggest that he was just doing it for show.
