A 59-year-old Birkdale nurse was reportedly kidnapped by six soldiers clad in military uniform using a military lorry on Saturday afternoon.
Sources close to investigations allege Matthew Dickson Zimba was picked by six soldiers and took him to an unknown destination.
"We are investigating a matter at Birkdale clinic where a male adult is alleged to have been kidnapped by six soldiers.
"The soldiers are reported to have first interrogated the sister in charge identified as Chipoka before taking the clinic keys and her mobile phone.
"After the fracas the soldiers went away with the victim, clinic keys and the sister in charge's phone," revealed the source.
Apparently, there was a serious land dispute between Ruff Sawadye a member of Zimbabwe National Army and Zimba.
Efforts to contact Mashonaland Central police spokesperson Milton Mundembe were futile as his mobile phone went unanswered.
