Mourners were left asking for more after the address by MRP President Mqondisi Moyo at the boundary of UMzingwane, Gwanda North and Matobo North constituencies.
This happened at the occasion of the burial of George Mhlubulwa Mlilo, one of the MRP elders who passed away on the 28th of November 2017 at Mpilo hospital. Mlilo succumbed to his long battle with prostate cancer.
Elder Mlilo, born on the 24th of April 1934, is one of the people who built the Bulawayo- Zesa Power Station. He also worked for Kango before being employed at Flexible Packaging where he worked for 34 years. Mlilo left behind two wives, six children, twenty-two grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
One of the highlights of the proceedings was the address of the mourners by the Moyo.
He warned them from falling into the temptations of celebrating the ascendance of Emmerson Mnangagwa to power, as is tantamount to celebrating the 1983- 1987 genocide.
Moyo told the mourners that it was Emmerson Mnangagwa, who on the 4th of March 1983 declared that the people of Midlands and Matabeleland were harbouring dissidents. He arrogantly and blazingly likened them to cockroaches that needed DDT to wipe them off.
DDT is a pesticide that is used to kill cockroaches and other insects. True to his threat, the 5th Brigade descended on Lupane the following day and left 55 Mthwakazi people lifeless, women widowed and children orphaned.
Moyo told the mourners that Robert Mugabe was not Zanu-Pf but that Zanu-Pf is a system which is currently in the process of renewing itself, and might emerge even more poisonous than in the era of Mugabe. He reminded the mourners of the boasting by Mnangagwa two years ago, that he was trained to kill. Which to us meant killing Mthwakazi.
He is the same insensitive Mnangagwa who said Gukurahundi was a closed chapter. Recently, after being gun pushed to power, the same Mnangagwa showered Robert Mugabe with all praises. He got to a top notch gear by hero worshiping Mugabe as a true revolutionary and founding nationalist, assuring him of protection from prosecution.
The fuming Moyo lashed at Mnangagwa's call for letting bygones be bygones. He said the butchering of 20 000 people cannot be classified as a simple bygone, much to the ululating and whistles from the crowd.
Moyo had no kind words for Zanu-Pf, MDCT , NPP and other shona led opposition, likening them to implementers of the 1979 grand plan, Gukurahundists who can not serve the interest of Mthwakazi people.
Moyo also lambasted the Zanu-PF Army for selling the people a dummy by exploiting them to legitimize a blatant coup. He said the excitement that the people displayed two weeks ago, is a replica of the one witnessed in 1980 with the propelling hand of the Chinese and the British and other political vultures.
Moyo urged mourners to remain vigilant and give their political support to MRP, the only party with the zeal, capacity and attitude to propel them to their desired future.
He further castigated the desperation of Joice Mujuru and Morgan Tsvangirai who unashamedly attended the factional and illegal inauguration of Mnangagwa.
