Finance minister Patrick Chinamasa has said with effect from next year the government will retire all civil servants who are above the age of 65 as there were a lot of them who are still at work.
"In this regard, from January 2018 Government will, through the Service Commissions, retire staff above the age of 65," said Chinamasa.
He also said the national youth service has been abolished and downsized diplomatic missions.
He also said there will be no executive class for government officials save for the presidium.
