A CHEATING married woman has come under fire from her boyfriend's relatives after her lover died in her bedroom in Mungate Village, Domboshava.
Fungai Chamburuka, 38, died yesterday at around 4am at his 41-year-old girlfriend, Shupikai David's homestead.
To make matters worse, Shupikai's daughter Hazvinei Jemistara is reportedly nursing a baby she sired with Fungai's son.
This is believed to be main cause of the argument which the two had before Fungai was found dead yesterday, revealed our source.
Shupikai's husband Rupiya Jemistara, who is mute, was in Marlborough where he is employed as a gardener.
Shupikai's first daughter Evelyne Jemistara, 21, told reporter that her mother would not find peace if the story reached her father.
"I am worried how my father will take it after receiving the sad news," said a sobbing Evelyne.
Shupikai threatened to take her own life when reporters sought a comment from her.
She later asked her supposed in-laws to be excused and give her side of the story.
"Who took this matter to H-Metro because if you publish that I have killed Fungai as what is being said by these people it will be incorrect for his relatives as they know that that he was sick for quite some time," said Shupikai.
"It is better for me to take my own life because people are accusing me of killing Fungai who came here for my care.
"I know that some (cheating) women kill their boyfriends but I am not that kind of person as being said by some of his relatives here.
"I did not report to the police because I'm waiting for them (relatives) to arrive so that we look at the issue together.
"We had an argument last night over my daughter Hazvinei who was impregnated by Fungai's son.
We agreed that we will continue with our affair. No foul play was done on him for his relatives know that he has been unwell for some time.
"Fungai came here on Friday looking for my care as his wife is reportedly not feeling well and my husband is in Marlborough where he works as a gardener," said Shupikai.
Fungai's relatives are demanding an explanation as they suspect a foul play after Shupikai had a heated argument over the affairs of their children.
Fungai's body was still in the house at 1pm as the relatives were still to decide where to hold the funeral.
Fungai's mother Erina Chidengu told reporters that she will not conduct a memorial service of Fungai UNLESS she gets finer details regarding her son's death.
"We are going to bury Fungai but after that we will need a satisfactory explanation leading to his death," said Erina.
"A memorial service will not be carried out before we get the truth.
"It is true that Fungai has been ill for some time but how he died is still questionable for he was the bread winner.
"I am waiting for my other children to discuss the way forward and burial arrangements," said Erina.
When reporters left the village, mourners were beginning to gather after reports that Fungai's relatives had arrived.
"We were hesitating to stay here because Fungai was a boyfriend to Shupikai so we were not sure if the funeral will be conducted at her house," said one of the mourners.
"After hearing that his mother arrived we thought of coming to pay our condolences.
"It is a shameful act to be done as we are aware that her husband is not around.
"Shupikai has grown-up children with her husband but she accommodates boyfriends when her husband is not at home," added the mourner.
