A 59-year-old ex-CIO operative who was allegedly kidnapped by soldiers over a land dispute in Birkdale farm Mvurwi, has explained how he was kidnapped by the military, last Saturday.

Speaking to Bulawayo24.com Matthew Dickson Zimba (59) said he was thoroughly beaten with his three workers, by seven soldiers who picked him up from his work place,  Birkdale clinic.

"I have a land dispute with Ruff Sawadye a top military official at plot number 1 DISI farm.

"Sawadye allegedly hired seven soldiers who came armed, using a military lorry and kidnapped me together with my three workers.

"We were thoroughly beaten by the soldiers and ordered to jump into the military truck.

"They dropped us one by one in the bushes close to Mvurwi and we were ordered not to report the case because the country was under military rule," narrated Zimba.

Meanwhile, The Commander Zimbabwe National Army Lieutenant General Philip Valerio Sibanda is on the record on calling the national army to be disciplined and desist from harassing citizens.

Apparently there is a video which has gone viral on social media where members of the army are seen assaulting civilians and confiscating their mobile phones.
