Drunk soldier arrested after firing two bullets in a bar

A 29-year old overzealous soldier was arrested after he fired two bullets from a service pistol in a beer binge in Masvingo on Friday night Bulawayo24.com heard.
Sources close to investigations allege Abert Alifeyo (29) a member of Zimbabwe National Army (ZNA) 4 Brigade, Masvingo was clad in the military uniform when he went to Morden Sports bar, Pangolin in Masvingo.
He is said to have carried a service pistol bearing serial number ZA 0283, where he started to drink beer with many civilians.
"Alifeyo reportedly accused a patron in the bar identified as Gono of smoking dagga and calling him a lunatic.
"The soldier disturbed Gono who was playing snooker resulting in an altercation.
"When Gono tried to reason with him he became ferocious and took away his beer before smashing the bottle on the floor," revealed the source.
"One civilian patron offered to replace Gono's beer but Alifeyo ordered him not to do so.
The accused withdrew his pistol and threatened to kill someone, he was held both hands by a person whom he threatened to kill as they wrestled, he fired two shots one of which hit the floor and returned to his hand resulting in him sustaining two grazed wounds."
The matter was reported at Chikato police station under RRB number 3372530, the scene was attended by ZRP Chikato, CID Masvingo and ZNA 4 brigade members
