MDC-T official Chalton Hwende has said the MDC-T delegation to US is over government's defiance on human rights upholding.
"The Zanu PF propaganda on our delegation to the US deficient of reasoning international isolation and targeted Sanctions were for human rights abuses(e.g. Dzamara , the murder of opposition supporters in 2008 etc ), not respecting the rule of law including the constitution & property rights, rigged elections etc. These can be objectively assessed by anyone," he said.
"What has ED (Emmerson Mnangagwa) done to address these concerns apart from his nice speech and going to work on a Saturday. We are still denied access to the State Media, ZEC (Zimbabwe Electoral Commission) is still controlled by the junta, our applications for rallies are still being denied, soldiers are in the streets committing human rights abuses, selective application of the law is still the order of the Day, Agriculture inputs in Rural areas are still being given only to Zanu PF supporters."
He said what has changed only is the portrait of Robert Mugabe in public offices.
