Harare West legislator for MDC-T Jessie Fungayi Majome has conducted a meeting with council officials at Mt Hampden in Harare to discouss over the damaged roads which have remained an eyesore for too long.
"I organized a meeting with the management of Willdale Bricks Mt Hampden and took along Ward 41 Councillor Charity Bango and her Harare City Council team. This was over the long standing problem of the damage to Good Hope Roads by road unworthy 30 tonne trucks on struggling roads with a 3 tonne restriction," she said.
"I'm acting on a complaint to me from residents and in pursuance of my roads maintenance initiative which saw me move a motion in Parliament for vehicle licensing fees to be restored to Harare City from corrupt ZINARA."
"I aimed to meet Willdale, Beta Bricks and some Chinese brick companies in the vicinity together with the police and residence but had to proceed to meet with them separately as one meeting has proved difficult to hold. Last year I visited the area and saw for myself trucks whose drivers confessed to be illegally using suburb's roads to avoid the police along Lomagundi Road."
