A MBARE WOMAN revealed in court that she sleeps on the floor while her daughter occupies the bed with her (the daughter's) husband in the same room at her flat.

Gogo Morden Barwe of Matapi Flats said she was comfortable with the arrangement even though her son is against the idea.

Gogo Barwe opened up at the Harare civil court where she was seeking an eviction order against her son Brilliant.

"I want Brilliant to move out of the house because he wants me to chase away my daughter and her husband from my flat.

"The flat has only one room, so I sleep on the floor whilst my daughter and her husband will be sleeping on bed in the same room.

"Brilliant also sleeps with me on the floor and I have resolved to chase him (Brilliant) away instead of forcing my daughter to move out," said Gogo Barwe.

She went on to tell that she did not want her daughter and son in law to move out of the house because they were the ones paying the bills.

"If my daughter and her husband move out, it means that no one will pay the water and electricity bills, so its better they stay at the house," she said.

In response, Brilliant said: "It is immoral for us to stay in such a set up but my mother does not understand. I also don't understand why she wants to chase me out of the house because I told her that my sister has to move out," he said.

Magistrate Milton Serima, who presided over the case, dismissed the eviction order urging Brilliant to observe peace at his mother.
