Mnangagwa tours Zimparks HQ

President Emmerson Mnangagwa on Tuesday toured the Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management Authority headquarters in Harare.
He was accompanied by the Minister of Environment, Water and Climate, Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri.
During his brief visit, President Mnangagwa met recent graduates of a Zimparks rangers programme who are all women.
Zimparks Director General, Fulton Mangwanya emphasised the significance of President Mnangagwa's visit given the important role wildlife conservation plays in promoting the tourism sector which is a key driver of the Zimbabwean economy.
The Zimparks Director General also outlined efforts being taken in wildlife conservation in the wake of threats posed by poachers.
The increase in human wildlife conflict cases has been a huge cause for concern and initiatives aimed at curbing threats to wildlife are deemed as essential in safeguarding the benefits that can be derived from tourism.
