Gunshots as armed robbers pounce at Delta

There was an exchange of fire at Delta Mvurwi in the wee hours of yesterday between armed robbers and police details.
More than ten armed robbers reportedly pounced on Delta Beverages and Guard Alert companies respectively targeting money.
Reliable sources told Bulawayo24.com that the robbers first pounced on Guard Alert Company where they stole a riffle and $30 after not getting cash in their safe and at Delta they assaulted a sales man and robbed him off $353 together with a Guardian company gun.
"Over ten armed robbers stormed Guard Alert Company, where they assaulted people, robbed them of a gun and $30 before proceeding to Delta Beverages Company.
At Delta they first attacked a sales man identified as Joseph Mutukudzi before robbing him of $352 company money," explained the source.
When Bulawayo24.com news crew visited Delta Beverages Mvurwi they saw destroyed infrastructure in cashiers' three offices and destroyed safes which they found nothing inside.
In movie-style, it is further alleged that the police details fired to register their presence and the robbers returned shouting 'Vape Moyo' (let them feel us) after realising that the police was advancing the robbers jumped over the Dura wall and fled.
Contacted for comment the police could not shed more light as they appealed for more information saying the case is still under investigation.
We are still investigating the matter hence we are appealing to members of the public to co-operate and bring information in connection with the case.
However, some of the robbers were captured by Delta Beverages Closed –Circuit Television (CCTV).
