Ex Zpra Veterrans Trust Charmian Buster Magwizi has said the Zanla force was formed as a breakaway force from the Zipra on tribal grounds that the Zpra was led by Joshua Nkomo from one of the Ndebele tribes, which the Shona group was against.
Magwizi's remarks come as the nation celebrated the unity day in line with the signing of the unity accord which was sealed in 1987 marking the end of Gukurahundi against Nkomo supporters by Robert Mugabe's government.
"Zpra is Zimbabwe peoples revolutionary army. Zanla is the African national llberation army. ZANLA was formed and led by so called rebels who were the elite Shona who never condescended with the tribe called Ndebele," Magwizi said.
"Until today ZAPU and Zpra cadres come from across the stretch of Zimbabwe. In Chimanimani Zpra cadres are just quite maybe they are intimidated. ZAPU and Zpra IS NEITHER Ndebele or Shona. Vane discipline yavo."
