Vice President Kembo Mohadi has reminded the current crop of leaders that they derive their mandate from the people hence the need to remain their servants and nothing above them.
This came out during a Matabeleland South Zanu PF Provincial Coordinating Committee (PCC) meeting held in Gwanda today.
In his maiden address before the Matabeleland South PCC meeting following his appointment as the Vice President, Mohadi began by thanking President Emmerson Mnangagwa for recognising his competencies ahead of his ethnicity.
Vice President Mohadi said; "Remaining a servant of the people is the path that i will continue to take in executing my duties, amid calls for the country's leadership never to take the people who put them into power for granted".
The Minister of State for Matabeleland South Abednico Ncube said the province feels greatly humbled by Mohadi's appointment and have no doubt that he will work tirelessly for the development of Matabeleland region and the country at large.
A bash to celebrate Vice President Mohadi's appointment is on the cards and is expected to be held in the provincial capital Gwanda at a date to be announced.
The last Vice President to hail from Matabeleland South Province was the late Father Zimbabwe Joshua Mqabuko Nyongolo Nkomo.
