Zanu PF National Political Commissar, Retired Lieutenant General Engelbert Rugeje says he will work hard to woo people to the ruling party.
Speaking during a Provincial Co-ordinating Committee (PCC) meeting for the Zanu PF party in Masvingo, Rugeje said people should not be enticed by money but by good party ideology.
The Zanu PF Masvingo provincial leadership held a special meeting where they celebrated the appointment of several party members from the province into key national leadership positions.
Retired Lieutenant General Rugeje said his biggest role is to mobilise people for the party ahead of the 2018 general elections.
He said the ruling party will continue working to ensure it represents the needs of the people.
Zanu PF Masvingo Provincial Chairperson, Ezra Chadzamira updated the meeting on the BVR progress in the province, noting that though registration is at 72%, they want to ensure that those who have not yet registered are given a chance to do so.
He also urged party members to put personal differences aside as they work on winning the elections.
Zanu PF Secretary for Youth Affairs, Pupurai Togarepi said they are working on moulding youths who respect the leadership.
Zanu PF Chief Whip, Lovemore Matuke and Secretary for Legal Affairs, Munyaradzi Paul Mangwana concurred on the need to work hard in order for the party to win the elections.
The party leadership agreed to move across the province, meeting those at the grassroots.
