Late CIO boss, Chirinda laid to rest

The late Deputy Director for Special Projects and Non-Traditional Threats in the President's Office, Nickson Chirinda who died in a car accident last week has been buried.
Hundreds of mourners turned up at Rainfield Farm near Lions' Den to bid farewell to provincial hero.
Mourners included diplomats, cabinet ministers, the Chief Advisor to the President Chris Mutsvangwa, Zanu PF Chairperson Cde Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri, Zanu PF National Political Commissar Lt. General Engelbert Rugeje and some service chiefs.
In his graveside speech, the Minister of State for Mashonaland West, Webster Shamu described the late liberation war hero as an unwavering cadre whose history is consistent with the guiding principles of the struggle for independence.
Cde Shamu also gave a citation of the late liberation war hero's biography.
The Chirinda family spokesperson, Mr Stanley Bonyongwa described his late young brother as having been a generous man who also had the interests of family at heart.
Farai, the late hero's son, hailed the support of the community and the ruling party during the time of bereavement.
Chirinda died in Chinhoyi last week when his Toyota Land Cruiser vehicle rammed onto a trailer of a haulage truck that was turning right towards Chinhoyi central business district, along the Chinhoyi-Chirundu highway.
His vehicle was trapped underneath the trailer due to the resultant impact and he died on the spot.
He was 58.
He leaves behind 4 children.
