A political analyst Pedzisai Ruhanya has warned that the opposition political parties cannot be at this time ruled out from garnering victory during elections considering the effects of former President Robert Mugabe's ouster in the ruling Zanu-PF.
Claims had been made that the opposition is in shambles and cannot win elections against a re-organised Zanu-PF.
Ruhanya said: "As I go back to the University of Johannesburg to carry out my research, my short stint in Zimbabwe suggests that it is premature to dismiss the opposition in the 2018 election.
"The effect of Mugabe ouster in Zanu PF by the military particularly in Mashonaland provinces should not be under estimated.
"More so the opposition took its voter registration to another level, a statistical approach where the youths analyse data and numbers in the campaign.
"I like one young man; Madhuku's approach in Harare's ward 16. Came across proof of residence affidavits for voter registration signed by Prof Welshman Ncube in Zaka, Tendai Biti in Bikita, Nelson Chamisa in Mutoko, Tabitha Khumalo in Binga.
"I saw Hons James Maridadi, Zizwai, Jessy Majome, Machingauta virtually camping in Harare and physically taking people to registration centres using personal resources," he said.
