Zanu-PF legislator for Highfield West constituency Psychology Maziwisa and broadcaster Oscar Pambuka accused of fleecing ZESA Holdings of US$12 500 through a dubious public relations consultancy job have both been granted bail by a Harare magistrate.
Ms Rumbidzai Mugwagwa admitted the two to US$300 bail each and ordered them to surrender their passports with the clerk of court.
Maziwisa was ordered to report once a week between Monday and Friday at Marlbereign police station, while Pambuka will report once a week at Waterfalls police station.
The two were also ordered to desist from interfering with witnesses.
Their lawyer Jonathan Samukange said the duo will return to court for routine remand on 30 January.
He added that as a legal team they are hopeful of the prospects of success given the evidence presented so far, but said in a criminal trial the possibility of the police keeping a trump card and springing a surprise cannot be ruled out so they will wait and see.
Maziwisa and Pambuka are the latest casualties as the Zimbabwe Anti Corruption Commission carries out a blitz on alleged corrupt people.
