Police in Hurungwe have arrested a 17-year-old boy for allegedly engaging in bestiality with a neighbour's cow. The teenager, who lives in Chief Dendera's area in the district, last week appeared before a Karoi magistrate to answer to the charge. He, however, denied the allegations.
The court heard that on February 20, the Form Three student allegedly went to a neighbour's cattle pen with salted grain. He fed one of the beasts after which he allegedly committed the crime. The neighbour later caught him in the act when he visited the pen to take the animals for grazing.
The matter was reported to police, leading to the teenager's arrest. Magistrate Mr Robson Finsin remanded him in custody to Wednesday for trial.
