Zimbabwe's new president Emmerson Mnangagwa has said that Zimbabwe will not adopt the South African rand emphasising that the country is geared to reintroducing its own currency if all economic fundamentals are met.
Speaking in Windhoek where he is currently on a day visit to introduce himself to his Namibian counterpart, President Mnangagwa reiterated that Zimbabwe will find lasting solutions to stabilising the economy and also steer the country to economic prosperity under his guidance.
"...What we can say is that we would like to work towards introducing our own currency in the near future when all the fundamentals are met but certainly we will not be adopting the South Africa Rand but the Zimbabwean currency."
