Police made several arrests on Tuesday after they found trucks carrying almost R1 million worth of unprocessed tobacco.
Authorities said the driver and his crew did not have the necessary papers to transport the cargo.
The truck was travelling from Zimbabwe and was intercepted on the N12 highway.
The police's Katlego Mohale said, "Six suspects were arrested following information received by police that a truck travelling from Zimbabwe will be making its way through Gauteng to an unknown destination."
