Diamond journalist handed over to CID

Alpha Media Holdings journalist Moses Matenga found with a 'diamond' hidden in his wallet in Marange Resources is currently interrogated by Zimbabwe Republic Police criminal investigations department (minerals) , his media house has said.

Editor in chief Vincent Kahiya has issued a statement confirming the arrest 'we are perfectly aware that the diamond fields are high security areas and our editors who have been there understand this' Kahiya said.

We are still gathering information about how Matenga came to have the stone, he added. He faces custodial sentence if found guilty.
