A 41 Hwange woman who doubted her academic potential set for gruelling "O" Level Cambridge Examinations in 1988 but did not bother collecting her results.

She now makes a living through cleaning toilets and classrooms at a nursery school.

But Uretha Msumba cursed herself recently when she reluctantly went to her former school Hwange Government Secondary to inquire about her results.

Shock and jubilation greeted her there.

Her result slip shows that she obtained a B in Mathematics, English Language, and three Cs in History, Ndebele and Geography.

She got pregnant soon after writing Examinations and so for her it was not necessary to collect her results. She now has five children.

Her former teachers never thought of telling her the good news.

"I had never thought I had passed and I got married soon after school. So my boss suddenly demanded my academic qualifications and it was Then I realised I had passed' said Msumba.

She now plans to travel more than 1000 kilometers to and fro Harare to collect her certificate.

" I need my certificate to map a way forward" she added.
