A 17-year-old boy from Mukumbura near Mt Darwin was allegedly kidnapped at gunpoint by three unknown female suspects in Harare, one of whom was wearing church regalia, who went on to drug and rape him several times, police have confirmed.

The police said the teenager later found himself at a yet to be established bushy place on the outskirts of Gweru.

Midlands police spokesperson Inspector Patrick Chademana said the kidnapping and aggravated indecent assault incident occurred on Wednesday between 5pm and 12 midnight.

He said the female suspects were using an unidentified model of a black twin cab, which was being driven by a woman clad in a uniform resembling that of the Anglican Church when they picked the 17-year-old boy in Harare.

"On the fateful day the 17-year-old boy who intended to travel to Mukumbura was picked by three female suspects who were travelling in a black twin cab.

"One of them, the driver, was putting on an Anglican Church uniform," he said.

Insp Chademana said the female suspects who had indicated that they were going to Mukumbura suddenly changed direction after picking the teenager.

He said they then drove along Lomagundi Road and diverted route into Harare Drive.

"When the boy asked whether they were still going to Mukumbura, the driver indicated that she intended to pick up some of her friends in the city. She then drove and parked the vehicle in the city near the civic centre," said the police spokesperson.

Insp Chademana said while still parked, the other two female passengers who were seated at the back pulled out a pistol each and pointed at the boy.

"The driver then tied the boy's hands and blindfolded him using a piece of cloth. They then drove off from Harare taking the direction of Gweru with the boy still in the vehicle not knowing where he was heading to," he said.

Insp Chademana said the teenager later saw himself in a room with two women different from those who had picked him in Harare.

"The two women allegedly ordered the boy at gun-point to eat some rice, which they had prepared in a plate. They later undressed him and forced him to have sexual intercourse with one of the two suspect women, light in complexion," he said.

Insp Chademana said during the forced sexual intercourse, the boy fell unconscious.

"He only regained consciousness after some time only to discover that he was now in a vehicle, which had one woman who was speaking on the mobile phone.

"The vehicle was parked on the side of the road and the boy's woman kidnapper was busy speaking over the phone. The boy took advantage of that to gently open the door of the vehicle and escaped," said Insp Chademana.

He said the boy quickly disappeared into a nearby bush.

"The teenager then came across a railway line which he then followed until he got to the highway," he said.

Insp Chademana said the boy, who did not even know where he was, was then picked up by a motorist who then told him that he was just on the outskirts of Gweru.

He said the motorist later dropped the boy at Gweru Central Police Station.

"The boy made a report of the matter at the police station. Police have since launched a manhunt for the three suspects," he said.
