Jonathan Moyo wins defamation case, awarded $5000

Judge Bere today delivered his judgment in a defamation suit filed by Tsholotsho North MP Jonathan Moyo against Vice President John Nkomo.
The ruling was deferred from the original time and only started at 2:15pm at the Bulawayo High court. The court was adjourned for a moment after the judge appeared to have misplaced his notes.
Judge Bere, the judge presiding over the case, said VP Nkomo has 'low opinion' on Jonathan Moyo.
Jonathan MOYO won the case and was awarded $5000 as damages, initial he had sued for Z$2 billion [about US$68,000 at the time]. Prof Moyo was not present at the Court, but a visibly weary John Nkomo was in the court room.
