Mthwakazi Republic Party held a successful rally in Beitbridge West and East after Roadshows held on the 16th and 17th of March 2018, respectively.

The Team was led by party President Mqondisi Moyo, Secretary General Ackim Gasela, Treasurer Brighton Sibanda, Foreign Affairs Secretary Njabulo Ngwenya and Zenzo Ncube, Mat South Provincial Chairperson.

"Both campaign activities wooed a lot of support for the party as the people of Beitbridge resonated with the party's quest to free Mthwakazi from a tribal hegemonic system. The people of Beitbridge lamented on the reality of their land, jobs and economic spaces being taken away by people from Mashonaland regions. Topical, was the sad reality at the border post where only people from Mashonaland are systematically preferred for employment at the expense of the local inhabitants," said the party.

"The sorry state of the Beitbridge infrastructure was also a cause for concern for Beitbridge dwellers who questioned the rationale of taking the estimated $2 000 000 per day, generated at the border post, to central government, while local development is compromised. We are humbled by the support of the people of Beitbridge on the cause of liberating Mthwakazi people. Such overwhelming support gives confidence and credibility that we are fighting a justified cause and we are doing it for the people."

The party said they appreciate the support by their SA Province that sent a contingent of fifteen members from Johannesburg to participate in the Beitbridge East Roadshow.

"Your presence was timely, relevant and convenient. We also appreciate the tireless efforts of the Beitbridge West MP candidate Cde Brighton Ithuteng Sibanda, for a job well done. Surely the people of Beitbridge West endorsed his candidature without ambiguity. We are also mindful of those who have committed themselves to fighting the struggle through donations of cash and kind. Siyabonga Mthwakazi," said the party.

"Our appreciation also goes to Makado and Beitbridge Police for their professional and excellent management of our activities. Finally, we salute our resolute campaign team that has braved all manner of weather for the success of the cause of Mthwakazi."
