Mujuru family demands inquest results

The Mujuru family, through their legal counsel, Thakor Kewada has applied to the Attorney General's office for the release of the inquest results to pave way for further action.
It is more than a month after the coroner of the inquest set to establish circumstances surrounding the mysterious death of Retired General Solomon Mujuru closed the proceedings after all witnesses had testified.
The findings of the inquest remain unknown as Regional Magistrate, Mr Walter Chikwanha has not yet released them.
The Mujuru family through its lawyer, Thakor Kewada says it has since sent a letter to the Attorney General to seek clarity over the results of the inquest.
According to Section 13 of the Inquests Act Chapter 7:07; the magistrate shall transmit to the Attorney General the record of every inquest held by him together with the conclusion at which the magistrate has arrived at.
During the inquest proceedings, it could not be conclusively established how the late General died.
According to the law relating to inquests, the magistrate's findings are final.
