A Bulawayo woman complained that her abusive husband was degrading her dignity by telling their tenants that she was no longer appealing in bed because of her organ which was now "loose and wide open" like a tin.
Constance Kuziwa Ndlovu from Nketa 7 complained that her husband Collen Ndlovu, a boiler maker in Botswana was also insulting her in front of their children and neighbours saying he was no longer interested in her.
She narrated her ordeal to the Bulawayo Civil Court.
"I am legally married to Collen Ndlovu and we have two children together aged 11 and one-and-a-half years. My husband, who is working in Botswana, has been physically and emotionally abusing me for the past years.
"He verbally abuses with obscene language in the presence of our children and neighbours saying he no longer loves me and I should move out of the matrimonial house. Each time he comes back home from Botswana he threatens to sell our matrimonial property. He is also threatening me with unspecified action if I don't move out of the house.
"He is also in the habit forcing me to sleep with him and after having sex he would tell our tenants that chinhu changu chave gaba (literally meaning her organ was now loose and open like a tin)," complained Constance.
Constance's submissions, however, courted Collen's anger who in turn accused her of cheating on him.
"She is the one abusing me. She once bit me on my shoulder after I confronted her over her infidelity and why she was giving her boyfriend our car. The other day after having sex I brazenly asked her why her organ was so loose since I had been away and she didn't give me satisfactory reasons.
"I put it to her that it was not supposed to be loose like that if she was not entertaining other men. I had to ask her because muzivi wenzira yeparuware ndiye mufambi wayo (literally meaning he who knows a certain path even on the rock is its regular user or traveller)," said Collen, drawing laughter from the gallery.
Collen's sentiments didn't go down well with his wife who also accused him of being sexually attracted to her friends.
"He is the one disrespecting me by going after my friends. He proposed love to my two friends and he is still bothering them to be in love with him," said Constance.
In his ruling the magistrate ordered Collen not to verbally, physically and emotionally abuse his wife. He also ordered him not to send her abusive messages and evict her from the matrimonial home.
