Jonathan Moyo's former deputy, two others indicted

The former Deputy Minister of Higher and Tertiary Education, Science and Technology Development, Dr Godfrey Gandawa and former Zimbabwe Manpower Development Fund (ZIMDEF) CEO, Fredrick Mandizvidza and ZIMDEF Principal Director - Finance, Nicholas Mapute have been indicted for trial at the High Court on the 21st of May.

Harare magistrate, Tilda Mazhande presided over the proceedings which saw Dr Gandawa, Mandizvidza and Mapute indicted for trial at the high court over several charges of corruption and criminal abuse of office.

Former Minister of Higher and Tertiary Education, Science and Technology Development, Professor Jonathan Moyo, who is still at large together with Dr Gandawa, allegedly recommended and approved a request for the purchase of 10 3d printers worth $95 800 and a computerised embroidery machine worth $16 000.

The state alleges that Professor Moyo and Dr Gandawa without going to tender awarded the business to Wisebone Trading (Pvt) Ltd, a company owned by Dr Gandawa's uncle.

A number of other corruption allegations which were involving the quartet were allegedly unearthed and the total value of the prejudice amounted to $450 000.
