Bulawayo engages Harare firms to manage its parking system

THE Bulawayo City Council has accepted proposals from two Harare based companies who have expressed interest in managing the city's parking system.
The local authority has been using its own officers to receive parking fees from the motoring public.
According to the latest council report, the local authority is seeking to enhance its revenue collections by engaging in this project.
The three companies that submitted their bids include ProPark, Duscretion Logistics [Pvt] Limited and MSP Parking.
"After consultations with all the departments, it was discovered that two proposals and one letter of intent for the Parking Management Services within the City of Bulawayo had been received.
"These were from Duscretion Logistics [Pvt] Limited of 155 Williams Way, Msasa, Harare, Zimbabwe; Lauvax Trading [Pvt] Limited t/a ProPark of BP and Shell Garage, Robert Mugabe International Airport Harare, Harare, Zimbabwe and NganduBiz t/a MSP Parking of 34 Nigel Phillips, Eastlea, Harare, Zimbabwe," the report read.
According to the report, the local authority accepted Ducretion Logistics (Pvt) Ltd and ProPark proposals and the two companies will be allocated separate areas within the city.
