Vice-President, Joice Mujuru is leading a local business delegation on a multi-stakeholder investment and trade mission to India to attend the 8th India-Africa Conclave.
The Zimbabwe delegation has left Harare to attend the conclave as part of efforts to increase foreign direct investment into the country.
The congress will also give Zimbabwe an opportunity to strengthen its relationship with India.
In an interview before leaving for India, Vice President Mujuru said this year's conclave is of great interest to Zimbabwe as it focuses on reducing Africa's dependence on western technology, products and services.
This will also allow India to step in with its Appropriate, Affordable and Adaptable technologies, known as Triple 'A' technologies.
Vice President Mujuru said the India-Africa Conclave and other such platforms of interaction play a pivotal role as they afford African countries an opportunity to get inspiration from the Indian growth story.
India-Africa trade has grown four fold in the last six years.
While Indian low cost technology can help create infrastructure in Africa and build its education system, the continent provides resources and markets for the Asian nation's booming economy.
The congress is organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and EXIM Bank of India with support from the Ministries of Commerce and External Affairs.
