Alliance for the People's Agenda (APA) Presidential candidate Dr Nkosana Moyo says Zimbabwe is in a mess economically because it is being run by 3rd rated leaders who have no clue on how economies are run.
In a Facebook Live video, Dr Moyo said he is ashamed with the calibre of some of the people who have been entrusted with running state institutions in the country adding that their poor rating will help produce desired results.
"…but guess what we do at home those same people who demonstrate their capacities globally are not accepted at home and then we are surprised when our country performs poorly when we take 3rd rate people and entrust our institutions to them.
"I want us as citizens to accept responsibility we have got a huge opportunity, unique in many ways because it starts with how we vote, if we continue to be prepared to vote for 3rd rate leadership and expect to get first-rate, first world solution to our challenges then something is wrong with us.
"We are not accepting the responsibility and the opportunity to take those people we have alienated who are running other peoples countries and say to them guess what we now acknowledge the error of our ways we have erred here, come back home, we now entrust our institutions to you, our country to you, run it and make it successful the same way you are making other peoples economy.
"We can do this but where we start from is the top leadership, I can assure you, we know as a fact and its fascinating for me the examples are everywhere, in sport a football team that is not performing the manager gets fired, its everywhere, a coach of a team whose not performing evidenced by results of the team poor performance or even individuals they are fired, why do we think Zimbabwe as a country is different, we will never succeed as long as we are prepared to settle for 3rd rate people in running our institutions and in running our country," he said.
Dr Nkosana Moyo added that there was a need for Zimbabweans to take responsibility for their actions as they have been electing poor performers expecting better results
"We need to be blunt with ourselves, we need to be honest with ourselves and accept that the responsibility lies with us for as long as we accept these issues of 2nd rate, 3rd rate performers we are going to get 3rd rate results the two are co-related, they depend on each other," he said.
