LEGISLATOR Priscilla Misihairabwi-Mushonga faces expulsion from her party for allegedly snubbing the MDC Alliance as well as hobnobbing with expelled MDC-T vice president, Thokozani Khupe.

Misihairabwi-Mushonga is a member of the MDC party which is led by former industry minister Prof Welshman Ncube.

The MDC is party of the Alliance which is backing MDC-T leader Nelson Chamisa in elections due this July.

Khupe, who has publicly expressed her reservations over the Alliance, was expelled from the MDC-T together with former organising secretary Abednico Bhebhe and Obert Gutu, who was the party's former spokesperson.

Sources in the MDC told NewZimbabwe.com that the party's leadership is concerned with Misihairabwi–Mushonga's alliance with Khupe.

The Matebeleland South proportional representation MP last week attended a 'spiritual high tea' meeting held in Bulawayo in solidarity with Khupe following her dismissal from the party.

Outraged MDC officials said action would soon be taken against the legislator.

The official said Misihairabwi-Mushonga was likely to be recalled from parliament for denouncing the MDC Alliance.

MDC Bulawayo provincial chairperson Oscar Ncube said although the parliamentarian is still an ordinary party member, her recent actions are clearly against the programmes and values of the organisation.

"To us, Misihairabwi-Mushonga, like Khupe is an attention-seeker we do not take seriously," said Ncube.
