AK-47 rifles are mainly used by the military but poachers normally access them.

They were armed with AK-47 and 375 rifles. However, the number of weapons they had is not known.

A Victoria Falls magistrate heard that on February 4, the group was confronted by Botswana security forces in that country.

Gun shoots where fired leading to the group to flee to Zimbabwe.
