Two ZANU PF youths who unlawfully entered a party office in Mbire and stole party registers among other valuables were finally convicted by Guruve resident magistrate yesterday.
Edward Bvure (30) and George Makombe (30) were sentenced to 19 months imprisonment after full trial by Guruve resident magistrate Shingirai Mutiro.
According to state prosecutor Ms Spiwe Makarichi, the duo unlawfully entered at Mbire ZANU PF offices on 26 February 2018 and stole goods worth $270 which include cell registers, a vehicle starter motor, blankets, a CD bag, 50kg bag of wheat and a mosquito.
The matter came to light when the accused allegedly sold the stolen wheat at a local grinding mill and the complainant; Stewart Simion (42) identified the empty bag at the grinding mill, leading to the duo's arrest.
Apparently the culprits took turns to collapse during trial there by deferring the matter to further dates while they were in custody.
