7 perish in road accidents

Seven people died while six others were injured in two separate road accidents that occurred in Chivhu and Murewa on Tuesday.
Mashonaland East police confirmed the two accidents yesterday.
According to police, the Chivhu accident involved a Harare-bound haulage truck, which collided with a Toyota Vitz car at the 130km peg near Hone Spruit River.
Three passengers in the Vitz died on the spot, while the other one died upon admission at Chivhu General Hospital.
Three other people were injured, while those from the haulage truck escaped unhurt.
In the Murewa accident, three people died on the spot when the driver of a vehicle they were travelling in failed to negotiate a curve, veered off the road before overturning several times at the 136km peg along Harare-Nyamapanda highway.
Police from Murewa attended the scene and rushed the injured to Mutoko District Hospital, while the deceased were taken to the mortuary for post mortem.
